Getting Started¶
Logging In¶
The system uses Edinburgh Napier University single sign-on. Click Login in the top-right corner of any page and you will be redirected to the Microsoft sign-in page. Use your university email address and password.
First-time users
When you log in for the first time your account is created automatically with the Pilot role. An administrator may later promote you to Responsible Officer if appropriate.
Your Dashboard¶
After logging in you will land on the Dashboard. It shows:
- Your projects — all operations you have access to, most recent first
- Quick-create button — start a new project from anywhere on the dashboard
- Certification status — a summary of your active certifications at a glance
Sidebar navigation¶
The left sidebar gives you quick access to:

| Flight Logs | Browse logs attached to your projects |
Your Role¶
Every user has one of two roles:
Pilot : Can create and manage projects, fill in checklists, and view their own certifications.
Responsible Officer : Has all Pilot permissions plus access to the Admin Panel, where they can manage users, drones, crew roles, and organisation-level renewals.
Tip
Your role and username are shown in the top-right corner of every page.
Session Timeout¶
For security the system will log you out automatically after 5 minutes of inactivity. Any unsaved form data will be lost. Save your work regularly.
