Welcome to the Drone Operations User Guide¶
This guide covers everything you need to plan, manage, and record drone operations using the Edinburgh Napier University Drone Operations Management System.
Who is this guide for?¶
This guide is written for remote pilots and project managers who use the system to plan flights and manage operations. No technical background is required.
What does the system do?¶
The system helps you:
- Plan operations by creating projects with location, purpose, and flight parameters
- Assign aircraft and crew to each operation
- Understand your CAA operational category before you fly
- Complete required documentation — pre-flight checklists, risk assessments, viability studies
- Track your certifications (Flyer ID, GVC) and be alerted when they are due for renewal
